Wellington Brass Sweeps A Grade Titles for Historic Sixth Consecutive Win
Wellington Brass has made history once again at the NZ Brass Band Champs, achieving an unprecedented sixth consecutive win in the A Grade category. This remarkable accomplishment solidifies their position as the only band to ever achieve this feat in the world's oldest music contest.
A Grade Stage Events Highlights:
Sacred Item: Wellington Brass triumphed with 1st place, delivering a heartfelt rendition of David Chaulks' "And My Soul Overflow."
Test Piece: The band won 1st place with their outstanding interpretation of Michael Ball's "Whitsun Wakes."
Own Choice: Wellington Brass clinched 1st place with a mesmerizing performance of Thierry Deleruyelle's "Sand and Stars."
Overall Results:
Wellington Brass emerged victorious, winning the A Grade overall and achieving a clean sweep across all categories.
